The following three rooms, located on the first floor of Mellor, constitute the Immersive Technology portion of the Smart Zone: Mixed Reality Studio (S111) – Also known as the ‘green screen room’, S111 is a large room-scale VR space for use with a wireless VIVE Pro headset. The walls, floor, and ceiling are Chroma green to allow for the potential of mixed-reality recording, superimposing the user into their current VR experience. Dual VR Suite (S113) – Side-by-side VR spaces set up for VIVE Pro headsets with wireless attachments for full freedom at room-scale. XR Dev Lab (S115) – A 12-seat computer lab with VIVE hardware built-in for easy setup and rapid testing. Much of the supporting equipment, such as VR headsets and AR-capable phones, are available to book through Henrion Media Stores. More specialized equipment can be requested via our Technical staff and ranges from haptic feedback suits to holographic displays, all with support for various development environments such as Unity and Unreal Engine 4.
