Home About Facilities Technical Visualisation and Simulation Studio Visualisation and Simulation Studio This multi-purpose space facilitates training, research and academic practice related to object digitisation, through the use of laser scanners and close range photogrammetry. The Smart Zone hosts a range of laser and structured light scanners. These enable students to create digital reconstructions of objects as small as a breadcrumb, to entire buildings. While dedicated instructional sessions for each of these scanners and the related software can be booked, our Technical Specialists are likewise available to perform scans for those purely interested in collecting data. View our Technical Instruction video library The Visualisation and Simulation Studio is an open plan space, exclusively available for object digitisation. Whether performed with any of our scanners or through the use of close range photogrammetry, the studio has been purpose built to provide ample space, privacy and flexibility to both students and researchers.
