Professor Dr Rocafort is an expert in economics and accountancy who has published more than 20 books and manuals, as well as various scientific articles, and holds titles in many prestigious institutions and universities.
As an Honorary President of the ESERP Business School in Barcelona, Prof. Dr. Rocafort has been instrumental in helping to establish a partnership with Staffordshire University, giving students opportunities to benefit from bi-lateral programmes.
The partnership is now more than a decade old and sees three Staffordshire University accredited courses taught at ESERP’s Barcelona campus and one at Madrid, with over 100 students enrolled.
As an accomplished lecturer, Prof. Dr. Rocafort taught doctoral courses in New Trends in Accounting at various other national and international universities.
He first gained expert accountant status, known as Perito Mercantil in Spain, at the School of Higher Commercial Studies of Barcelona in 1968 and within two years had advanced to Professor Mercantil, before becoming a Chartered Accountant in 1976.
He has completed courses in Economic Science and Business Management, achieving a Bachelor Award and PhD, before attaining a Bachelor of Law, all from the University of Barcelona.
At the same institution, he also became a Professor of Financial Economics and Accountancy of the Faculty of Economy and Business Management.
Prof. Dr. Rocafort is Honorary President of the European Superior Council of Doctors and Honoris Causa Doctors as well as Honorary President of the Institute for Public Relations and Business Management.
Other titles include Member, Secretary General and President of the Admissions Committee of the Royal Academy of Economical and Financial Sciences of Spain and Member of the Royal Academy of Doctors.
The Award of Honorary Doctor of Staffordshire University is in recognition of Prof. Dr. Rocafort’s contribution to leadership in securing and consolidating the partnership between Staffordshire University and ESERP.
