Water Management

Water consumption monitoring to date has been poor.  The University has now appointed a new water management supplier and is working with them to improve monitoring and establish an accurate baseline.

This plan is lead by:

  • Helen Rutherford, Head of Sustainable Campus Operations

This plan is enabled by:

Water consumption is reduced by working with staff, students and visitors.  It is also reduced by working with the supplier to introduce technical solutions to reduce usage and waste.

A baseline will be established in 2023-24.  There has been a problem with the accuracy of water metering

Operational priorities for 2023/24

  • Creating a baseline for water consumption, by building
  • Working with the external water management company to bring in technical solutions to reduce water consumption
  • Working with staff and students to reduce water consumption across the campuses
