Sexual Health Advising - Widening the Remit

Get the knowledge you need to become confident and competent when delivering sexual health advice in a professional setting.

Join the experts at Staffordshire University and explore issues associated with sexual health advising practice including an epidemiological overview of sexually acquired infections including HIV, the diagnosis and management of sexually acquired infections and HIV.

With us, you’ll also develop your knowledge dealing with the practice of partner notification and health promoting practice, including both community and hospital-based practice. As well as the examination of current and future development of the sexual health advisors role

You will also learn the most relevant and up to date legal and professional frameworks of sexual health advising, including historical development and examination of current legislation and professional and ethical guidelines affecting practice.

Entry requirements

Working in an area where the provision of sexual health is part of the professional role. Students on the Level 7 will have to demonstrate they are able to work at this academic level.
