Student experiences in Sciences

Undergraduate

Immerse yourself in the full scientific student experience at Staffordshire University. With our £30m Science Centre at the heart of your studies, you’ll be learning by doing during your time here.

Studying sciences at Staffordshire University, you’ll follow a personalised student experience.

As a bioscience student you’ll follow an academic journey that is focused on developing you as a practitioner and ensuring you know who you are as a biologist. As a psychology student, you’ll be allocated a personal tutor who will act as your academic mentor before you arrive at the university and support you throughout your time with us.

Plus, our Bioscience courses have a core first year and incorporate cross-disciplinary working, so you’ll experience all that biosciences have to offer before selecting which path you wish to follow in your second year. Our optional pathways mean you can select to follow a broad Biomedical or Biological Science curriculum for your entire degree, or select from specialisms including Ecology and Environmental Management, Genomics, Pharmacology or Pre-Med.

Andrew Keating

Graduate, BSc (Hons) Psychology and Counselling

There’s such a wide amount of stuff that’s covered on the course. We don’t just talk about psychology – we talk about crime related things and juvenile delinquency and murder – it’s such a wide variety of topics that we discuss that it never gets boring.

Samantha Martin

BSc (Hons) Psychology and Criminology

For me, the best part of the course has been getting to choose my optional modules. There were a variety of modules available for us to choose from and it helped me tailor my experience on the course to be specific to the topics that I was interested in, which then allowed me to gain a wider knowledge on some of my biggest interests.
