Professor Esther MacCallum-Stewart

The Night Before Critmas

Esther’s talk contains eggnog, yule log, party games and elves who definitely aren't goblins. Instructions on how to kill the gingerbread house with fire before it eats you will be provided. Esther is a Hugo award finalist and Professor of Game Studies at Staffordshire University, specialising in player behavior and analog games. Esther also organises large science fiction conventions and is Chair of the Glasgow 2024 Worldcon.

A brief overview of promoting your project through public relations, influencers and community. Sarah has 10 years’ experience in video games media & communications and is currently lead Communications Manager for Merge Games.

Mark Moxon

The history and technology of Elite

Mark will discuss how David Braben and Ian Bell created a ground-breaking space trading game with eight galaxies in less computer memory than a small word document.
Mark is a travel writer, coder, walker and Acorn nut, though not necessarily in that order. Mark originally edited Acorn User – the leading computer magazine for the Acorn series of computers including the BBC micro. Mark was also editor of H2G2.
