As part of the final year Consultancy Project module which requires students to design and deliver a live event, a group of Events Management students put on a special hybrid event on International Women's Day in our Cadman TV Studio. Alongside the organisation and marketing side, the students needed to look at health and safety, legal issues and crisis management for their event.
They branded the event as 'Creating HERstory' with the idea that it brings individuals together to share the knowledge and experiences of extraordinary women to make the world better for everyone.
The students invited a panel of guest speakers and during the live debate they explored important topics such as women's rights, overcoming gender bias, women in leadership, and the intersection of race, gender and ethnicity.
There was the opportunity for guests to connect with inspiring speakers, thought leaders, and like-minded individuals who are all passionate about creating positive change. The students used the event to raise money for Staffordshire Women's Aid charity, which provides vital services and support to women and children affected by domestic abuse.
There was the chance for guests to join in person or virtually.
