Ambleside Location Film Production Residential
Our first-year filmmakers have just completed their first film production within the first 12 weeks of being at the University. All the short films were shot during a 4-day residential trip in the Lake district in week 5 of the course. The students screen the completed films in our Film Theatre to over 200 guests, including industry professionals, course peers, friends and family. Awards were presented by Industry Professional Director and Producer Daniel Latham for Best Concept, Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Film.
Careers Advice Panel with Course Alumni
We have held our first Alumni Careers Advice Panel of the year, where a range of course graduates returned to talk to students and answer questions about making the transition from studying at university to securing employment and progressing their careers. The panel included Director and Producer Daniel Latham, TV Researcher Chloe Bray, Production Company Owner Martyn Lomax, Content Creator/Indie Filmmaker Kieran Shayle, and Cinematographer Natalie Argent.
Live Film Production Brief with Stoke City Football Club
Film Production students have worked with nearby Stoke City Football Club to produce a short film about mental health awareness. Students worked with the media department at the Football Club to plan, shoot and edit the short film that was then screened at the stadium on match days and shared across social media channels.
