Does everything included in my portfolio need to be final outcomes?

Show us how you have developed your designs. We want to see your sketches, ideas development, creative process and how you got to your finished work.

How many pieces or pages should be included in my application portfolio?

We recommend you include around 15 to 20 pages. When selecting work, the thing to remember is quality over quantity.

Can I include digital work or even animated work in my university application portfolio?

Digital portfolios are a good way to present large-scale work

Yes. We want to see a range of mixed media. We also want to know what other areas you have worked in that might not be related to fashion.

How should I lay out my portfolio?

Organisation and attention to detail are important.

The size of your portfolio is up to you. It’s a good idea to talk with someone in your class or a current lecturer or teacher to see what size your work is and how best to present your work.

Whatever way you present your work (portrait or landscape) it’s essential to keep the orientation of your work consistent.

How can I prepare for my portfolio review?

Try to be relaxed and enjoy the experience.

The main thing is to try to relax.

We know it can be a stressful situation, but it is a chat between us and yourself to get to know more about you, what inspires you and what shapes your creativity.

During the chat, it’s good to give us a strong start, strong middle and a strong ending. This makes you memorable.

We may well talk with you at the end and the last page might be what is in our vision for the longest amount of time.
