On-campus GradEX

If you would like to be involved in the in-person event that is part of GradEX, then the following information will tell you all you need to know about:

  • when and where it will take place
  • what you need
  • how to register for the event
  • how to present your work to a range of industry experts and employers

You need to ensure you are able to attend the event in order to meet and network with the judges on the day.

Your poster/display

This could consist of one of the following:

Research Project/Dissertation  

  • An overview of your project and your hypothesis
  • Literature
  • Findings (data and analysis where applicable)
  • Methodology
  • Conclusion
  • The impact of your findings and how you would like to use your research
  • What skills did you learn when undertaking the project/ research

Practice/Work experience

  • Overview of your role
  • Skills and knowledge developed
  • Case studies included where applicable to demonstrate good practice
  • Knowledge developed of the organisation
  • The impact your experience will have on your future practice

Other submissions

  • Optional module assessments and reflection (please speak to your academic tutor if you need guidance)
  • Field work and practical projects
  • Laboratory work and any final year module assessment
  • Overview of assignment
  • Knowledge gained
  • Skills developed
  • How you are going to use this information in your future career
If you are taking part in the Degree Show you can use your showcase that will already be set up. 

Sign up for the in-person GradEx event

You can sign up for the in-person GradEX exhibition to show your final year work in any of the available categories. To do so, please email the following details to gradex@staffs.ac.uk :

  1. your full name and student number
  2. the course you are studying
  3. the category you are entering

The closing date for this is 29th May 2024.

If you require your poster to be printed it needs to be emailed to us in PDF format by 4pm on Wednesday 29th May.

How to format GradEX posters correctly

Key Dates

  • Online portal opens for digital submissions - 1st May 2024
  • Portal closes to digital submissions - PORTAL IS NOW CLOSED FOR ENTRIES
  • In-person event submission deadline (GAMES SUBJECTS ONLY) - NOW CLOSED
  • In-person event submission deadline (all other subjects) – NOW CLOSED
  • Portal goes live to employers – 31st May 2024

One week before the event student checklist

  • Have you registered for the in-person GradEX event?
  • Have you thought about any questions you would like to ask the employers/judges?
  • Do you have your contact details printed and ready to give out to employers/judges if you wish to do this?
  • Have you updated your CV ready to hand out to employers/judges? Please submit your CV for feedback via our Career Connect Portal (CV 360) and book an appointment with one of our Careers Advisors to check this over
  • Have you checked your LinkedIn profile is up to date and ready to share with employers?
