Distance learning

Many of our courses for members of HM Forces as available as part-time distance learning programmes. Distance Learning is exactly as its name suggests: studying for a degree or Masters award without actually being at University.

Instead of attending lectures, you will study online, attend virtual tutorials and submit your assignments online. You can study and submit your assessments from anywhere in the world, as long as you have an internet connection.

Distance Learning gives you the opportunity to study through a university that you would not be able to attend because of your location, or to fit study around work or other commitments. Choosing Distance Learning allows you to:

  • Study with an organisation with an outstanding reputation for excellence internationally.

  • Have access to a dedicated team of tutors who are available online and by phone.

  • Track your progress, learn and communicate with other students via Blackboard: our Virtual Learning Environment.

Where can I study from?

Worldwide. We have been delivering contracted and bespoke programmes for over 15 years and work closely with all arms and services in developing and delivering awards which can be studied not only on campus, but worldwide via a distance learning programme.

How can I apply?

You can apply for your chosen programme via our online application portal. You will be provided with comprehensive guidance on how to complete the process, but you can always contact the HM Forces team should you require further assistance.

Who can apply?

Our courses are designed to cater for a wide range of ranks and trade specialists and entry criteria is normally determined by rank, trade skills, educational qualifications or a mixture of all.

How long will it take?

This is dependent upon your chosen award and the levels of accreditation that you may receive in recognition of your training and experience.   For further details please consult the course literature or contact the HM Forces team.

Can I use my ELCs?

Yes you can, the University is an approved ELCAS Provider and our provider code is: 1442.
