Recruitment and Events

At the Institute of Policing, our mission is not only to deliver high-quality education and training but also to actively foster and cultivate the next generation of exceptional police officers.

About the team

Our team of Recruitment Development Officers (RDOs) play an instrumental role in this and are dedicated to promoting the various routes into policing, supporting prospective students with their applications, and ensuring that they connect seamlessly with the wide array of courses offered here at University of Staffordshire.

Our RDOs are a dynamic and flexible team who attend and actively participate in numerous events throughout the year, ranging from large-scale career fairs and public shows to intimate school and college lessons.

In 2023 alone, our RDOs were responsible for organising and attending over 50 events across our partnered regions Staffordshire, Warwickshire and West Mercia and collaborated closely with our esteemed policing partners to showcase the diverse range of pathways available to those passionate about joining the police force.

Through their inventive and engaging approach, our RDOs aspire to inspire the next generation of policing professionals to #GetIntoPolicing, driving home the message that this is a career path filled with meaning, challenge, and profound impact.
