#SecretStaffs – Psychology and Me

Learn about the inner workings of the human mind with our Psychology department

'Psychology and Me takes' place on 27 February

‘Psychology and Me’ on Wednesday 27 February is a free interactive evening where visitors can get hands-on with fascinating equipment and hear from experts in the field.

The #SecretStaffs campaign showcases hidden gems on campus and this time we look at some of the technology that will be on show - including a driving simulator which tests your reactions, virtual reality that transports the user to another world and we learn how brainwaves can show psychologists what you are thinking without asking.

“One of the strengths of the Psychology department is that we really focus on applying our research outside of the lab. Everything that we do, we do with the intention of making a difference in the outside world.” Dr Nichola Street explained.

Dr Daniel Jolley added: “The equipment doesn’t just sit up there, our staff and students get to regularly use it but so do you the general public. We often have public engagement events where you the public get to come and use it. We hope to see you there!”

Psychology and Me takes place at Staffordshire University’s Science Centre, Leek Road, Stoke-on-Trent, on Wednesday 27 February 6 - 8:30 pm. Book your free tickets here - https://psychologyandme19.eventbrite.co.uk or contact psychologyevents@staffs.ac.uk
