The new agreement will see the University’s name continue to adorn the Boothen End stand, whilst also becoming the official sponsor of the Club’s Community Trust, providing the opportunity for the University to align closely with various Community Trust projects. It is 10 years since the University first became a Stand Sponsor at the bet365 Stadium.

Tony Scholes, the Club’s Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted that Staffordshire University has extended their partnership with us until at least the end of the 2023/24 season.

“Over the past decade we have forged a close relationship with the University which has been hugely beneficial for both parties.

“Like ourselves, the University place great emphasis on supporting the local community and our continued partnership will enable both organisations to engage yet further with people across the city of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.”

Staffordshire University Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Barnes CBE DL said: “Our relationship with Stoke City Football Club has included opportunities for our students to work with the club in sports development and journalism roles which has helped our graduates further their careers.

“Earlier this year we announced a new course for students who’ve set their sights on a career in football coaching which includes work experience opportunities with Stoke City Community Trust.

“We are very aware of the excellent work the Community Trust does to inspire young people in our community – from sport participation to supporting mental health and wellbeing – and so we are delighted to become official sponsors of the Trust.”

The extended partnership will see the Club continue to deliver a series of practiced-based masterclasses and workshops for students in areas including football coaching and business practice.
