In The Mail University guide 2025, the University also climbed five places to =66 and ranked 5th in the UK for its support of first-generation students.

The University’s profile reads: “The university has invested in what it dubs “simmersive technology”, which recreates real-life work and crisis scenarios. This translates into an excellent graduate employment record. Few can rival its commitment to social diversity too and it has one of the biggest portfolios of degree apprenticeships.”

Commenting on the University’s performance in the League Tables, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Annabel Kiernan said: “This is good news and we are delighted to be recognised for the things that we think makes us stand out in the sector.

“Our top ten course places reflects excellence in student experience across 25 courses that help make up the University’s diverse portfolio. Our campuses in Staffordshire and London are equipped with high tech simulation suites where students get hands on and hyper real experiences to develop the skills and expertise they need.”

“Importantly, we remain committed to social diversity and our students become part of an uplifting, inclusive and empowering community where they are encouraged to be themselves in an environment that’s big on personality.”

Universities are ranked on a number of measures including what students say about their university in the National Students Survey, class sizes, spend per student, entry grades and whether their academic performance improves during their time at university. There is also data on how many students get graduate jobs within 15 months of graduating.

Professor Kiernan added: “Choosing the right course at the right university is one of the most important decisions you can make and for anybody investigating their choices for 2025 entry, we encourage them book on to an Open Day.”
