You can also track your application via Beacon where you can also access a wealth of additional information about studying at the University of Staffordshire.  You can download google from Google Play the App Store and via the standalone Beacon Website.

Campus Connect

Staffs CampusConnect is our student-led community app for offer holders.  Connect with other people from your course, hometown or country, and even those with similar interests.

CampusConnect will be available for September 2023 offer holders from January 2023 and you will receive registration instructions via email.

Student support

We want to make sure you get the most out of the student experience and all that Staffordshire has to offer. Our Student Services teams offer a wide range of support and resources to enrich your student life. Student Connect is your primary contact for our services which include learning resources, the Library, academic skills development, Careers Connect, health, wellbeing, inclusion and pastoral support (and everything else in between!).

Academic Support

Once enrolled, you'll be able to take advantage of the workshops and one-to-one sessins hosted by the Academic Skills team to get an idea of the sort of skills you’ll need at University. They will give you some essential hints and tips and there will be chance to ask questions. They can support with:

  • academic writing
  • planning and time management
  • coping with deadlines
  • tackling an assignment
  • numeracy

Money and Guidance

We have a team of friendly, approachable Money and Guidance Advisors who can help you with any problems or questions you may have whilst studying at Staffordshire.

You can talk to us about anything; whether it is a personal problem or an academic issue. We work closely with other teams within the University and with external support agencies too.

Inclusion Support

Our expert advisors in our Student Inclusion Team are here to support you making the transition to Higher Education. Please contact the team as soon as possible to discuss your individual inclusion support needs. The team will be able to provide advice and guidance on how the university can meet your needs. There are many ways the university can support you with your studies. Following the discussion with the Student Inclusion Team you may have individual Learning Support Statement detailing the reasonable adjustments needed to support you accessing your studies.  

Disabled Students Allowance

The inclusion team can also provide general advice about the support available or the Disabled Students’ Allowance application process. If you are a current student please complete the online contact form so that advice can be given based on your specific needs.

Transition support for Autistic students

Starting university life can feel uncertain and moving away from home can feel daunting. To support the start of your student life there will be a two-day Transition to University event in mid-August for autistic students. The event gives you the opportunity to experience an overnight stay on campus. If you would like more information on this event please contact the Student Inclusion team.

Support for student groups

We are committed to promoting and enabling a positive culture where staff, students and visitors are confident to be their authentic selves. We focus on inclusion as a way to ensure equality of opportunity for all our people and to demonstrate our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Human Rights.

Accommodation and Residence Life

We guarantee all first-year students a place in residential accommodation, so you need to apply early to secure your place. Whether you’re used to going it alone or it’s your first time away from home, we want to make your time with us an exciting and rewarding experience. As well as enjoying modern accommodation close to campus, you’ll be made to feel very welcome. Our Residence Life team will make sure you settle in and you can join in with a range of ResLife activities, so you’ll feel part of the student community where you live.
