We want to make sure you get the most out of the student experience and all that Staffordshire has to offer. Our Student Services teams offer a wide range of support and resources to enrich your student life. Student Connect is your primary contact for our services which include learning resources, the Library, academic skills development, Careers Connect, health, wellbeing, inclusion and pastoral support (and everything else in between!).
Academic Support
Once enrolled, you'll be able to take advantage of the workshops and one-to-one sessins hosted by the Academic Skills team to get an idea of the sort of skills you’ll need at University. They will give you some essential hints and tips and there will be chance to ask questions. They can support with:
- academic writing
- planning and time management
- coping with deadlines
- tackling an assignment
- numeracy

We have a team of friendly, approachable Money and Guidance Advisors who can help you with any problems or questions you may have whilst studying at Staffordshire.
You can talk to us about anything; whether it is a personal problem or an academic issue. We work closely with other teams within the University and with external support agencies too.

How we support your health and wellbeing
Inclusion Support
Our expert advisors in our Student Inclusion Team are here to support you making the transition to Higher Education. Please contact the team as soon as possible to discuss your individual inclusion support needs. The team will be able to provide advice and guidance on how the university can meet your needs. There are many ways the university can support you with your studies. Following the discussion with the Student Inclusion Team you may have individual Learning Support Statement detailing the reasonable adjustments needed to support you accessing your studies.
Disabled Students Allowance
The inclusion team can also provide general advice about the support available or the Disabled Students’ Allowance application process. If you are a current student please complete the online contact form so that advice can be given based on your specific needs.
Transition support for Autistic students
Starting university life can feel uncertain and moving away from home can feel daunting. To support the start of your student life there will be a two-day Transition to University event in mid-August for autistic students. The event gives you the opportunity to experience an overnight stay on campus. If you would like more information on this event please contact the Student Inclusion team.
