I’m a technical specialist within the Media & Comms team, specialising and focussing in live production and broadcast technologies. My career started within the equipment booking facility here at the university, allowing me to develop my knowledge and understanding of the wide range of equipment that we provided at the time, before then going on to work in corporate video for a local production firm as one of their content creators. Upon being accepted for the role of Technical Instructor, as it was known at the time, I then focussed on developing my knowledge and understanding in broadcast technologies to support the journalism courses utilising the television news set, as well as going on to achieve certification in the operation of NewTek technology.
More recently I have helped in the design and creation of the Esports broadcasting studios, both in Stoke and in London, introducing new technologies to allow for more flexible approaches in how broadcasts can be designed, and improving the overall connectivity of the campus studio spaces and the integration of additional studio technology.
