Ian is a Senior Lecturer and an award leader for the BA (Hons) Professional Sportswriting and Broadcasting degree. He previously worked in Sports PR, Sports Journalism and News Journalism (with experience in print, online and broadcast). His interests include the relationships between sport and the media
I have over 15 years' experience of working in Higher Education and, prior to that, 25 years in News and Sports Journalism and Sports PR.
My education skills include teaching, tutoring, award planning and management, course and module development, student support, and online learning.
My focus is on bringing industry-standard skills into courses and modules via a modern and relevant curriculum development and inspiring students to get the most from their University learning journey.
I hold a Postgraduate Certificate (with Distinction) in Higher Education (PGCHE), am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (MCIPR).
