Rebecca Warnett

Senior Lecturer

Health, Education, Policing and Sciences

I am the Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in Sports Therapy, with extensive experience teaching on the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy degree since 2015. I have taught across all three levels (4, 5, and 6) of the programme and have served as a module leader for various subjects, including clinical practice, rehabilitation, and research. My expertise lies in clinical settings, where I integrate both my academic teaching and industry experience.

In addition to my teaching career, I have substantial industry experience in both clinical and field environments. I owned a clinic where I provided sports massage, injury assessment, and rehabilitation services to local clients. I also served as Head of Medical for Burton Albion Ladies FC, leading a team of qualified Sports Therapists and placement students while supporting teams ranging from U16 to the ladies’ first XI. My responsibilities included pitch side emergency trauma management, injury assessments, and rehabilitation.

In my current role, I plan and deliver undergraduate teaching, offer academic and pastoral support to students, and organise enrichment opportunities that enhance their learning and overall experience—an aspect of my role I am deeply passionate about.
