Breakout Sessions
The louder you scream...the faster we go!
An introduction to Mechanical Engineering through exploring the structural forces that need to be considered when constructing a Roller Coaster – or aeroplane. Students will experiment with using different types of material and design to create the most effective roller coaster
Engineering the Future – How do driverless cars work?
Students will be introduced to the basic concepts underlying driverless cars. Using basic programming and sensors, students will have a go at creating their own prototype automated vehicle. This provides an introduction to some of the ways in which Electronic Engineering is being used to create transport solutions for the future.
Creative Engineering
Engineering isn’t all about nuts and bolts – it’s about developing a critical and creative mindset that focuses on problem solving and innovation. Students will be encouraged to put their creative thinking skills to use on a basic Engineering problem
Introduction to the SMARTZONE
Students will get to experience some of the new technology within the University’s new SMARTZONE, and understand the real life applications of technologies such as 3D Scanning and 3D printing.
Automotive Race-Car Preparation
Get hands-on with our racing vehicles, help us to set them for their next race and learn about the importance of adjustments that can increase performance.
All of our breakout sessions can also be delivered as standalone half day events.
