Outline

Explore the creative musical possibilities of software such as Ableton Live, and discover what it's like to work with audio for TV and film in our Music & Sound Masterclasses. Our workshops will give you the opportunity to gain hands on experience with a variety of industry software and platforms. You'll also learn about career pathways in this area which include music and song performance, music distributions and artist management, and sound and music for games, films, TV and video.

10:00 - 10:30   Arrival

10:30 - 11:00   Welcome / Tour of facilities

11:00 - 12:30   Workshop One 

In this workshop you'll find out what it's like to work with audio for TV and film using an electronic music production platform for composition and performance. You will then have the opportunity to adapt a demo song to further explore the features and functions of the software.

12:30 - 13:00   Lunch (staff and students to bring their own lunch)

13:00 - 14:30   Workshop Two 

In this session you will be 'mixing sound to picture in Logic Pro X.’ You will take a selection of music, speech and audio sound effects from a helicopter rescue TV advert and blend them together to create a cohesive whole using the professional digital audio workstation, Logic Pro X.
