Feature Film Production

Masterclass

Outline

These masterclasses are aimed at anyone who is interested in finding our more about feature film production, and what it’s like to work behind the scenes making a movie.

The first hour will look at some of the professional production techniques, giving you an insight into the work of a set in a studio. We will cover everything from clapper-boarding to camera operation, and from lighting to directing to get a particular type of shot to impact on your viewing audience.

The second hour will look at post-production and editing techniques. We will be using the scenes shot in the previous session to explore how you can use different type of edits to enhance the images shot, and to tell a story.

This will be delivered through a live interactive master class online. Link to be forwarded to students in advance.

Also included will be opportunities for participants to have a live Q&A session to discuss the process with industry-focused film makers.

This session will be delivered by film producer Andy Paton, and cinematographer Oliver Walker, who both worked on the film Running Naked (2020) with director Victor Buhler.
