Probation Services: How do we manage offenders?

Masterclass

Outline

We will work with you to deliver this activity in a COVID compliant way

Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons for England and Wales (HMI Prisons) is an independent inspectorate which reports on conditions for, and treatment of, those in prisons, young offender institutions and immigration detention facilities. In 2018, HMI Prisons reported some of the most disturbing prison conditions we have ever seen in the 21st century.

Careers in the justice system can include roles focused on the prediction, prevention and investigation of offences, in addition to the reduction of reoffending, the rehabilitation of offenders and support services for victims. We can close the visit with a talk outlining what careers paths are available with a Criminology degree, how students can enter different careers and where opportunities are likely to develop in the future.
