Living on campus

A big part of your University experience might be living away from home for the first time. This is a great opportunity to forge new friendships, take on extra responsibilities and develop skills for life.

For some, moving away from home is an exciting new adventure. For others, it's a daunting prospect. We understand that you may have some anxieties about moving away, so we're here to help give you a taste of what it's like to live on our friendly and diverse campus.

Our campus community

friends

Making friends

Living on campus gives you ample opportunity to find 'your people' and make incredible memories. Our university flats and houses all boast vibrant community areas, not just in your block, but outdoors too. Whether you're cooking dinner with your flatmates in your shared kitchen, or soaking up the sun after a long day of lectures in our community gardens, connecting with other students has never been easier.
nature

Time to yourself

If you're used to a quieter life, then you may be feeling apprehensive about the thought of living with lots of new people. Outside of the comfort of you room, our campus offers something for introverts and extroverts alike. If you need to get some headspace, then head to our on campus nature reserve to take in some fresh air and get back to nature. Students who live on campus also get free membership to our gym and sports centre, giving you chance to look after your mental and physical wellbeing.
reslife

ResLife

Your ResLife team will also be on hand to help you settle in, and they're always about for a chat if you're feeling homesick or lonely. The ResLife events are also great places to meet people from your accommodation block, so be sure to keep an eye on the event calendar. From your first day with us to when it's time to move out, the ResLife team are there to support you.

On-campus amenities

Post room and lockers

We have multiple options to get post delivered on campus. Read more

Leek Road Houses

All post will get delivered directly to your house. No need to visit the post rooms. Make sure you use the right post code for the houses, and letters and parcels will come direct to your door.

Post Lockers - Leek Road Halls and Clarice Cliff

We have two post lockers installed on campus, one at Leek Road Halls and another at Clarice Cliff. When you get a parcel or letter delivered to you, the post rooms at Coalport or Clarice Cliff will accept your package and, in most cases, will load it into one of the post lockers. You’ll get an email with a barcode on that will allow you to pick up your parcel or letters.

Amazon Lockers

We have two Amazon lockers installed on campus, one at Leek Road Halls and another at Clarice Cliff . When you purchase something directly from Amazon, you should get your package delivered directly to the Amazon lockers if available.

Post Rooms

Not all post will come directly to you or be put into a post locker, sometimes parcels are just too big to fit in the locker. There are two post rooms on site, one in Coalport for residents of Leek Road Halls and one in the Clarice Cliff office for Clarice Cliff residents. Your post will be stored for you to collect if we can’t load it into a post locker and we'll usually let you know you have a parcel waiting. Please contact us before heading down to the post room and we can check if you have any post to collect.

Launderette

We have laundry facilities at Leek Road in Bush House, Clarice Cliff Court, and at College Court.

Union shops

There are two convenient shops on-campus, both ran by the Students' Union, ensuring the best prices. Read more

Our Campus Safety and Security Service can be contacted 24/7 if you have any concerns. They also make regular patrols across our campuses. We're even lucky enough to have our own Police Liasion officer right here on campus. Students also have access to the SafeZone app which you can use to alert security in an emergency.
