Summer School (Finland) Games Development

**Applications now closed for 2024** Check early 2025 for next entry. Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) is offering a summer school in Games Development. Students can study either 5, 10 or 15 ECTS worth of credits during 11 weeks of study. The language of the summer school is English.

During the course, you will work in student game development teams while simultaneously learning the objectives and methods of developing video games. The course requires also the ability to work independently without guidance.

Within this course, you will choose from the following tracks:-


1. Published game

Students work in teams of 4-10 to create a game to be published on a digital marketplace at the end of the course


2. Game Development Competition

Students work in teams of 4-10 to create a game to be entered into a Game Dev Competition of the same year


3. Portfolio


Students work in teams of 1-3 to create a good quality but smaller scale project (i.e. interactive room environment) aimed at portfolio


4. Rapid Development


Students work in teams of 1-3 to create fast prototypes of multiple different projects to learn concepts of rapid prototyping

 

Duration of studies: May to August 2023


Requirements: Previous knowledge of basic programming, production, game design or graphics
Price: Free for Staffordshire University students
