Example workshops

  • Teambuilding through Sport and Physical Activity: A 60-minute physical activity workshop which promotes the development of team building skills through sport.
  • Sport and Exercise: A 60-minute classroom-based workshop which connects a wide variety of cross-curricular learning, using sport, nutrition and physical activity as the catalyst.
  • ‘I am a Champion’ masterclasses: a collection of short, interactive workshops that use sport (and physical activity) as a holistic educational tool to inspire children and encourage physical activity.

I joined the Sports Academy as part of my final year and can say my time with the Academy has been very productive and was a good balance between my studies, lectures, and work experience.

I got to network with other members of staff and help plan the JTAS program which allowed me to improve my confidence and communication skills in a familiar environment. I gained wonderful experience of creative planning with other students that I normally would not have an opportunity to engage with.

Working with younger individuals is an experience itself as you can learn so much from them.
