Explore University of Staffordshire inside the video game Fortnite – and take on virtual challenges.

Built by our talented games students, StaffsVerse is the UK’s first university campus to be recreated as a Fortnite island. It’s an interactive space where you can get to know our facilities and community from anywhere in the world.

Navigate your way around digital versions of our Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford and London campuses and sample student life. From finding hidden hoverboards to building a bot, you can play mini-games on your journey.

Developing the StaffsVerse

Student developers from the University’s Games Institute created the Staffordshire metaverse in Unreal Engine. It grew out of our award-winning 1UP placement scheme, where we employ 30 students over the summer to run our in-house games studio.

StaffsVerse has achieved national acclaim, contributing to us winning Best Education Initiative at the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2022. It’s also a fantastic example of the real-world skills that students gain during their time with us.
