Course delivery
There is an emphasis on practice-based learning and learning by doing approach to supplement the more traditional approaches of lectures, guest speakers, tutorials, workshops, seminars and a virtual learning environment (VLE) will complement and enhance traditional, face-to-face learning experience.
Knowledge and skills will be developed through case-studies, role-plays, simulations, presentations, projects (work-based and academic), reflective portfolios and the extended use of technology supported activities.
Lectures will be 4-hour affairs, typically the first hour will be a talk or presentation, the second, third and fourth hour will be a seminar, demonstration, case studies discussions, problem solving activities and assessment development activities. This changes though depending on the topic or the module.
Learning activities enable you to discuss and develop your understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller groups of around 15-40 students. In addition, you will have timetabled meetings with your personal tutor at least twice a year. You will be taught in first-class learning spaces throughout your course.
